Player is the main character of Adventures in the Magic Kingdom. The developers of the game never assigned this character an official name, although here we refer to him as Player. He has also been referred to as Bamboo, BAMBOO.7, and Hero in various sources. He is also never seen in any other games besides Adventures in the Magic Kingdom.

The name that is selected in Name Select is the name which Player will be assigned throughout the entire game. The player can choose whatever name he/she desires, although if they completely skip Name Select by pressing the START button, Player will automatically be assigned the name "BAMBOO.7".
